Inverdoorn Game Reserve

Inverdoorn Game Reserve

Clear skies and crisp air welcomed our visit to Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Iziba Safari Lodge. This 10 000 Ha, 5-star lodge is located two and a half hours’ drive from Cape Town, as you pass Worcester on the N2 and drive into the Karoo desert.

From its humble beginnings as old farm houses, it was transformed into a beautiful guest house. The lodge grew to be a haven of comfort and luxury nestled deep in the desert. All rooms and buildings are surrounded by a beautiful, indigenous succulent garden, making sure that no matter the season or water conditions, the sustainable design is there to stay and welcome visitors.

In addition to the Big Five Safari, you can expect to interact one on one with cheetahs, to see hippos, zebras, giraffes, red lechwe, various antelope species, their cousin the wildebeest, Africa’s largest antelope, the eland and the nation’s pride, the springbok. A short walk from the lodge will get you to the ostrich zone.

On overnight safaris, you will be treated not just once but twice, at both sunrise and sunset. Since the animals are much livelier at these times, you will witness the cheetah’s magnificent training runs, so it is well worth the stay.

On beautiful days lunch is served outside under old Eucalyptuses, allowing you to enjoy a subtle breeze and interact with fellow guests. All meals are based on local South African cuisine, served generously and full of flavour. Special dietary requirements can be met by prior arrangement.

The lodge also offers WIFI as well as two pools to keep everybody entertained and relaxed throughout their stay.
