Matchem Stakes, 5 October 2019, Durbanville Racecourse

Guests can expect a casual and relaxed day with a potjiekos competition. If you have not thought of entering a Potjiekos competition you might want to try out as there will be a share of R35 000 to be won! (T’s &C’s Apply) To enter visit The Boer and Butcher in Durbanville for entry forms.

Also on the day you will have thrilling horseracing, The Market at the Barn, kids play area, live screening of the RWC. There is something for the entire family to enjoy. Free entry. Gates open @ 9am. No alcohol or food allowed to be brought onto the premises.

Horses For Causes, 16 November 2019, Kenilworth Racecourse

The day will offer exclusive VIP dining, hospitality packages, celebrities, glamour, fashion, music, family friendly activities, exhilarating horse racing and participation in a worthwhile community upliftment event.

The event’s Masters of Ceremony will be Sibongile Mafu of KFM Mornings and Africa Melane from Capetalk Weekend Breakfast show. The theme of this year is Kaleidoscope.

All proceedings from this day goes towards supporting 10 different charities.

WSB Cape Fillies Guineas, 14 December 2019, Kenilworth Racecourse

The World Sports Betting Grade 1 Fillies Guineas and Cape Guineas are the features on the day. These are the first alternate legs to the Triple Crown & Tiara series taking place on the Highveld.

Added to the exciting races, the event offers a last minute Christmas Market, kids’ entertainment and prizes to be won by spectators and visitors.

L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival, 10 & 11 January 2020, Kenilworth Racecourse

Molded on famed international racing festivals such as the Qatar Goodwood Festival and Royal Ascot, 2017 saw the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate becoming South Africa’s first ever multi-day Racing Festival.

2020 sees host to the fourth official L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival and the 159th running of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate taking place on Saturday, 11th of January.

Look for the much anticipated Garden Party being held on Friday, 10th of January. Tickets go on sale on 15 November 2019.

The Sun Met, 1 February 2020, Kenilworth Racecourse

Africa’s Richest Race Day, has announced African Luxury: Visionaries as the theme for 2020 as the event returns.

The theme calls on all race goers to feel inspired by their inner most vision, creativity and innovation and arrive ready to transform Africa’s Richest Race Day into a harmony of visionary imagination.

Cape Town Prawn Festival – 22 February 2020, Kenilworth Racecourse

Fresh, succulent prawns, a family atmosphere and world class horse racing, the annual Vasco Prix Du Cap.

Entry is free and there are many Prizes to be won by the audience.
