Some of the fine wine estates across the Cape Winelands maintain their own Wildlife sanctuaries and are open for public viewing usually combined with wine tasting. A different take to the usual static wine experiences.

A unique African experience in the heart of the Franschhoek Wine Route, with a premium Wine Tasting of some of Chamonix’s best wines from within the vineyards where they are planted and grown, followed by a Game Drive showcasing Chamonix’s magnificent wildlife. Whether in conjunction with the Franschhoek Wine Tram, or while visiting the farm.
Departs twice a day at 11:00 & 15:00.

The Game Drives & Wildlife Sanctuary includes 12 dams plus marsh areas which attract a huge variety of bird-life.
A number of mammals have been introduced in the Wildlife Sanctuary: Springbok, Kudu, Giraffe, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Bush Pig, Burchell’s Zebra, common Duiker, Steenbok, Waterbuck and Grysbok.

Home to a wide variety of game, including Sables, Blue Wildebeest, Oryx (Gemsbok), Golden Wildebeest, Zebra, Ostrich and Fallow Deer. Birdwatchers can keep an eye out for White Pelican, Hadeda, Blue Crane, Spur-winged Geese, Guinea-fowl and, if you are lucky, Fish Eagle, Jackal Buzzard an Yellow Billed Kite. The tour concludes at the Big Cats’ park and includes a bottle of water, glass of sparkling wine or grape juice and snacks.
A second option is guided tour of the Big Cats Park at Vredenheim followed by a tasting of any 5 wines of your choice.
