Just over a year old, Tranquila Spa at the famous Aquila Safari is becoming a sought after destination for the simple, ingenious reason of being part of an exciting Big 5 safari that also offers luxurious African hospitality, traditional culinary delights, diverse accommodation options, renewable energy and welfare to both human and wildlife.

Couples visiting should take advantage and book one of the secluded chalets that include outdoor shower or bath. It is a lifetime experience to soak under the beautiful African sky.

Families visiting the reserve enjoy ground floor rooms that open to the communal areas, keeping children occupied but still in sight. The Kids Club is there for those who need more attention and supervision.

In between the morning and afternoon game drives on a safari vehicle, quad bike or on horseback, the reserve offers all you can find in a resort: a swimming pool, rolling lawns and sun decks, a pool bar and even a cigar lounge.

The Tranquila Spa complex, which is open for free to those who stay in the reserve more than 2 nights, includes 2 large heated indoor pools, a steam room, wet & dry sauna, a nail bar, 10 treatment rooms, a couples or group treatment room and an outdoor pool. Short term guests can use the spa for a fee of R250 per person per day and the first treatment booked will be discounted by this amount. Guests to the Premier Cottages are granted free access no matter the length of their stay.

The spa uses natural products that harness the medicinal powers of indigenous plants, flowers and herbs and are free from petrochemicals, synthetic ingredients, colourants and preservatives.

The menu includes skin care treatments, body treatments, eye enhancements, waxing services & hair braiding. Access is subject to availability.

Aquila Spa & Game Reserve is located in the Karoo desert, less than 2 hours’ drive from Cape Town. Guests have the option of tailor making their overnight packages or choosing from 4 different day trip safari packages.
