The Cape Town Festival Orchestra will perform a programme including popular South African pianist Charl du Plessis performing re-invented arrangements of many classical favourites: Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Bach’s Toccata and Piazzolla’s Libertango. The programme will also include tributes to Hugh Masekela, Leonard Bernstein and it will end with a rousing performance of the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky, with a participatory surprise!

A fantastic new programme by five selected members of Cape Town Opera. These fine singers perform an inspiring and uplifting concert of arias and ensembles from well-known Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Verdi operas. After the interval, the repertoire is cheerful and very fitting for end of the year celebrations. They sing with youthful exuberance in German, French, English and African, three Spirituals and one or two traditional African ensembles, will have you yelling for more.

BLONDES, Rachmaninoff, Ravel & Rock in my taal

The Blondes, a well-known unique and exciting piano duo on two pianos. This performance revolves around the letter R. In the Rachmaninoff-medley fragments from Vocalise & 2nd Piano Concert, the Paganini-variations and well known Preludes. Die Ravel-medley consist of melodies from Bolero, Habanera and La Valse. The rock section in the show highlights music gems by artists such as Amanda Strydom, Laurika Rauch, Coenie de Villiers, Johannes Kerkorrel & Koos du Plessis.
