    As the Home of Chenin Blanc, Perdeberg Wines is excited to once again present the Chenin! Festival! On the 5th of December 2020, we will be showing off styles from serious barrel-fermented whites, easy-drinking fruity summer wines right up to Methóde Cap Classique bubblies and incredible dessert wines too! Multiple wineries will offer their wines for tasting and for sale directly to visitors. There will be oysters, sushi, cheese platters and many other delicious food options available and amazing live music by the talented Matthew Duncan to round off the experience.     Theatre On The Bay

    Theatre On The Bay is THRILLED to announce that Alan Committie is back in his brand-new year-end stand-up show: Apocalaughs Now! from 9 December 2020 to 16 January 2021.   It’s been the wildest year yet with the most unexpected and crazy pandemic turning our existence inside out, and upside down. However, renowned funnyman Alan Committie is determined that we keep laughing in the face of it all. So, join him in his latest solo stand-up show which re-opens Theatre on the Bay this festive season.   Global lockdown, earthquakes in Plumstead, cigarette and alcohol bans, Cricket South Africa out for a duck, Trumpeting leaders blowing hot air and the only response we have had so far is to dance the Jerusalema (which is how drunk people pronounce Julius Malema after 2am in the morning). But now Committie explores how we can stay sane and healthy in body, mind and soul with his usual madcap verbal wit and physical comedy shenanigans.   Our intrepid jester tries to understand wellness coaches, explores the world of Tik-Tok videos, unpacks how we thought the world would end versus how it’s actually happening and may or may not have found the missing R500 billion promised to the nation!   So, book now for the limited 6 week run at the most scenic theatre in South Africa.   • CTO Summer Concert at Quoin Rock

    An hour-long programme of African and Russian music in the operatic genre and with piano accompaniment by musical director and pianist extraordinaire, José Dias, presented in the Quoin Rock Venue.   The concert will be preceded by a service of Quoin Rock MCC and canapés from Quoin Rock Gåte restaurant. The event and programme aim to be the artistic expression of the Quoin Rock wine ethos - to offer a myriad of well-balanced, complex flavours that generate even more harmonies over time.   The programme should bring together the African origin and location of the space with the Ukrainian  heritage of its owner.   All Alert Level 1 protocols will be observed and seating is limited to 100 people.   R300 per person includes canapes and Quoin Rock wines.

    Full Moon Picnic at the Afrikaanse Taalmonument are very popular with local residents and tourists alike, who especially enjoy the sunsets and incredible night scenes.   Visitors can come anytime between 17:00 and 22:00, and have a look at the monument, which is an exceptional, symbol-rich sculpture. Visitors are also encouraged to explore, and there are outdoor games and playgrounds for children.   Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or pre-order one from the Oppi Berg Mobile Café on 060 382 9938 (R250 per couple, R450 per family of four). Dress warmly and bring a torch, and a mask. See www.taalmuseum.co.za/covid-19/ for the specific protocols.   Tickets are R40 per adult, R10 for SA students and R5 for children (free under six years). They are available from Computicket or at the gate, and no booking is required.   Annual permits are available at R120 for individuals or R220 per family (currently offered at a 20%-discount), which includes access to all Full Moon Picnics.
