Così Fan Tutte

Baxter Theatre Centre Main Rd, Rondebosch, Cape Town

Cape Town Opera present brings  Italian Così Fan Tutte at the Baxter Theatre from 28 - 31 October.   Two young men put their fiancées to the test by playing an elaborate prank to prove their faithfulness. Bearing the subtitle, ‘The school for lovers’, Mozart’s Così fan tutte is a powerful tale of love, temptation and fidelity.  In a combination of glorious music and bittersweet comedy,  improbable disguises and partner-swapping are put side-by-side with a more serious, even cynical, commentary on the inevitability of human frailty.
