Afrikaans Language Monument Youth Day Concert

In honour of Youth Day 2020 the Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument (ATM) and Marco Mentoor Productions will host an exciting free online concert that will introduce emerging Drakenstein stars to a global audience.
Given this year’s theme – “Youth Power: Growing South Africa together in the period of Covid-19” – this is an opportunity for the institution to strengthen its links with communities as well as to promote community-wide music practice and creative careers among the youth. According to the ATM’s director, Michael Jonas, the ATM also wants to celebrate Afrikaans in all its diversity and forms, in order to promote nation-building and social cohesion.
The Youth Day Concert starts at 12:00 on Tuesday, 16 June 2020, and anyone can stream it via Facebook at www.facebook.com/afrikaansetaalmonument/
