From hotels to wine estates, from weekend markets to beach restaurants, Cape Town’s hospitality industry, already accustomed to paying careful attention to meticulous presentation and hygiene protocols, only needed to make minor adjustments in order to align with post-pandemic protocol needs.

Existing gardens and terraces rearranged to keep both patrons and staff safe while counting on the Mother City’s fairly moderate weather to oblige. Extra safety measures were put in place and while your cooperation is needed, you are welcome to step into these fine establishments.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel High Tea by the Sea is back. In their garden, between the Table Mountain National Park and the Atlantic Ocean, just after the sun starts to lower into the horizon.

Tobago’s Restaurant on Cape Town’s Waterfront, at Radisson Blu in Granger Bay, offers international cuisine and local finesse. Tobago’s offers a stylish and relaxed atmosphere with contemporary decor and spectacular ocean views. Guests can experience extraordinary sunsets, savour the sea breeze as they dine al fresco, enjoy International cuisine and local finesse and if they are lucky they might see dolphins swimming by.

The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay’s Luxury Beachfront Escape Deli is open. Inside, in the greenhouse like space or outside on the deck, offers include freshly brewed coffee and home baked pastries in the morning or a basket of delights to accompany your afternoon sunset picnic.

The President Hotel, one of the first establishments to open under the current new order, started with sharing its cuisine with deliveries to the broader neighbourhood. Being a favourite among locals all year round, the pool area and sun decks are available now for a relaxed and sheltered afternoon or weekend lounging. Special occasions, Sunday roast, a leisurely breakfast or just for pizza and a drink, all are welcome.

Part of the Victoria & Alfred Hotel, Ginja restaurant in the V&A Waterfront is a stone’s throw from the water’s edge. The spectacular setting encourages guests to savour the moment to the fullest, whether they are enjoying a cup of coffee and cake with colleagues, a meal with family, or a sundowner with friends.

Strolla restaurant at the Peninsula All-Suite hotel is a favourite among locals. Open every day, it’s where joggers, walkers and bikers stop for a healthy, nutritious meal. The outdoor tables and bar are there from the beginning, all that is left for you to do is to keep safe social distance.

A brunch picnic on a sprawling lawn, overlooking Table Mountain is available at De Grendel Wine Estate from Wednesday to Sunday (weather permitting). Order your picnic basket online, pack a blanket, and arrive between 11:00 and 11:30 to collect your basket and hot drinks from the estate restaurant.

De Grendel invites you to take a leisurely stroll on the farm before or after tucking into the scrumptious brunch of delightful treats prepared by Chef Ian Bergh and his team at De Grendel Restaurant.

Find a sunny corner overlooking the Simonsberg Mountain and enjoy a tasty meal with your family at Knorhoek Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. This newly renovated estate is one of the perfect escapes for families, allowing children to roam free and safe.

Knorhoek restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch.

Lust Bistro & Bakery at Vrede en Lust wine estate, on the corner of R45 and Klapmuts Road, enjoys the benefit of having a large terrace to welcome guests.

They are known for the woodfired brick oven where Chef Jean Pierre Smith conjures up authentic artisan breads and all manners of delectable daily fare. A great place to compliment your meal with stocking fresh products and ready-made dishes for the following days.

Authentic South African country cuisine in available at Perdeberg Winery. Eat At Perdeberg serves breakfast and lunch, open from Wednesday to Sunday. The long existing naturally shaded outdoor seating is perfect for the new era, with food is available both for sit or takeaway.
