SWING TIME at the Ballet – Cancelled

Sean Bovim’s ballet performed to music of the swinging sixties. Last seen danced by the CAPE TOWN CITY BALLET in 2007, this ballet helps you relive the past as you listen to hit tunes such as It had to be You, Unforgettable, Fly me to the Moon, Mack the Knife, Fever and The Way You Look Tonight.
A night in Vienna

Richard Cock and the Oude Libertas Festival Orchestra carry you away to the magical city of Vienna, as they start your year with a bang at the 2019 Viennese New Year Concert. This glittering evening will include a selection of waltzes and polkas from the Strauss family, as well as other entertaining orchestral works, and South African soprano Hlengiwe Mkhwanazi will enchant with her renditions of popular opera arias.
EINE KLEINE JAZZMUSIK

A melange of Mozart, musical madness and mischievous arrangements in a jazz style by Charl du Plessis. Music from well-known Mozart operas, concertos and even some chamber music will feature the Charl du Plessis Trio with new and upcoming vocalists as well as the Mozart String Quartet. The famous Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute as well and extracts from famous piano concertos are amongst the musical delights that fans can savour.

ROSENTHORN CELLO TRIO

Rosanthorn combines the talents SAMA-Nominee Carol Thorns, Cape Town Philharmonic’s Dorette Roos and composer Anjulie Nock.
Rosanthorn have set out a compositional and technical journey to explore all that the Cello has to offer across multiple genres and timbres, with the help of South Africa’s top composers and producers. Their repertoire includes recordings and re-interpretations of works as varied as Vivaldi’s Double Concerto in G Minor, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek. Their arrangement of Abdullah Ibrahim’s Mannenburg and Bright Blue’s Weeping was commissioned for the opening of Zeitz Museum Of Contemporary Art.
DNA STRINGS Homecoming – Cancelled

A reunion show fifteen years after their unique style first emerged in the Boland town.
Their mix of Flamenco, Irish and African sounds captivated audiences of all ages and always left a lasting impression. The show promises to be exactly that – memorable, energetic, and magical – consisting of all their favorites from their touring days.
8 Seasons- Vivaldi & Piazzolla

A compilation of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Concertos (Le Quattro Stagioni) for Violin & String Orchestra, together with Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires (Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas).
All of those would be normally played with a Solo Violin & String orchestra which is the original intention of Vivaldi but not of Piazzolla. Piazzolla’s original was for his Tango Quinteto.
In this production you’d have 2 well known celebrated bands from Cape Town sharing the stage.

A Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber is a culmination of 50 years of this composer of musicals’ incredible career on Broadway showcasing the most popular highlights from such showstoppers as Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Requiem, Sunset Boulevard, Cats and Aspects of Love.
With Niël Rademan (baritone) and the South African Sopranos accompanied by the multi-talented pianist Elna van de Merwe.
