Aunty Merle

A musical comedy written by one of South Africa’s top comedians, Marc Lottering, brings back to stage a legendary character in a new sequence.

A local family plot showing you it’s the same all over, every time but with a bright mind and a heart in the right place, life can be good and most importantly, funny!

The local production will star South Africa’s own Jonathan Roxmouth (Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd) as Che and Emma Kingston (In the Heights, Les Misérables), who has been personally chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and Hal Prince, to play Eva Perón. Robert Finlayson will make a welcome return to the stage as Peron. The show is choreographed by the original West End and Broadway choreographer LARRY FULLER and designed by original designer TIMOTHY O’BRIEN.

Kirstenbosch New Years’ Concert

Performed by Goldfish & Hot Water, it is a special version of the Sunday concerts series. Gates will open at 19:00 and the show will end at 12:15. It is a picnic style concert so bring your own basket full of goods and a blanket.


Oude Libertas Amphitheatre

Situated in the heart of the Stellenbosch Wine Route, this bush has its’ own tradition.

The Oude Libertas New Years’ Band serve a rich repertoire of traditional party music and their renditions to all the evening’s must haves.

Gates open as early as 16:00 and you are welcome to bring your own food. The bar will be open all night long and will serve local wines. The dance floor is open to all patrons throughout the show.

The Rockwell Dinner Theatre

The rainbow nation comes alive on the stage. ‘Kaapse Stories’ transforms the audience into the vibrant world of District Six, through the adventures of the Kleintjies family.

The show is accompanied with a 4-course dinner and features traditional Cape cuisine.

The New Year’s Eve spectacular is a special edition of “Kaapse Stories from the Mother City”, the Rockwell Dinner Theater resident jazz band, a magical performance by world-class magicians, a Cape Carnival (Kaapse Klopse) procession at midnight and late-night dancing.
