The Franschhoek Winelands have become a popular tourism destination in the Western Cape for both visitors; investors and families alike. The quaint winelands attracts millions of visitors each year not only for it’s beautiful scenic routes and vistas but also for it’s world renowned restaurants and globally rated wine cellars.

Art in the Yard

Art In The Yard is situated in Franschhoek, just off the main road down a cobbled stream lined path in a picturesque courtyard. The gallery is versatile, brightly lit and set over two levels with incredible views of Franschhoek. The aim of the gallery is to give focus to artists with fresh ideas whilst still holding true to skilled craftsmanship. Art is selected from upcoming, local and international artists.

Included into the curation schedule are artists Vanessa Berlein, Haidee Nel & Frans Smit amoungst others. Visit Art In The Yard if you enjoy viewing works by fresh new contemporaries.

The Ilse Schermer Gallery, having being open for almost a decade the Franschhoek Is Art venue is a spectacular open space with varied Contemporary curation including sculpture and ceramics. Recent exhibiting artists include Frans Mulder; Vivien Kohler and Guy Du Toit.

ODA Gallery

ODA is an inspiring double volume gallery situated in the center of the main street, Huguenot in Franschhoek which plays host to 3 exhibition spaces. Objekt.Design.Art focuses on emerging and established artists from the African continent and conjoins art, jewllery making and design practice under one roof.

Patrizia Litty, owner and curator from Germany, introduces her penchant for quality at O.D,A and an undenying drive for perfection, as well as an unlimited will and passion for the fine arts. Objekt.Design.Art inspires a cross cultural dialogue that ultimately will bridge continental borders- a great unique concept amidst other curated spaces in the Franschhoek area.

The Boutique Gallery

Founded in 2007 by Dewald Prinsloo, Leonard de Villiers and Marc Stanes, their curated spaces in Franschhoek and Cape Town showcase classic and contemporary fine art combined with exclusive, local design. EBONY collaborates with some of the finest creators in Africa to create dynamic and engaging spaces. Visit them and their partciularly new development within the area to see dynamic mix of artists, local design and frequently rotated beautifully curated spaces.

The Gallery at Grand Provance

The Gallery at Grand Provance is a definite must-see and a respected venue within the Franshhoek area. The Gallery exhibits a carefully selected group of artists from South Africa, Europe and America. The Sculpture Garden has a continually evolving collection of monumental works in a variety of media. Upcoming exhibitions include the group exhibition ‘Painterly’ and current exhibition ‘Ars Gratia Artis’ group exhibition.
