Taking a trip through the winelands of the Western Cape is always a treat on the senses. Not only do the winelands offer incredible wines, but sensational local bistros, goodies and most of all – farm stalls. In any farm stall you will be able to find anything from amazing fresh produce to local brews, mementos to vintages and even activities! We have marked some of the local’s most beloved below.
Off the N1 – Klein Joostenberg
Joostenberg deli offers a wide variety of products, from everyday necessities to that specific something for a special occasion. You will find fresh cut flowers, Joostenberg wines at cellar door prices and a selection of delicious home cooked meals, ice creams, desserts, their range of dips, salad dressings and mayonnaises, all prepared in their own kitchen right here on the farm. They also source and stock a range of organic produce, free range meats and eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, as well as cheeses and yoghurt from a variety of trusted local producers.
The extensive gift store has something for every age and every budget. You can either sit at the bistro and enjoy their menu, try a locally brewed beer at the tap room or have a picnic one the lawns outside. It is a family friendly space where the whole family can relax and children can run and play.

On the R310 – Zetlers
The café serves homemade pies, fresh muffins and a variety of smoothies among other things. The shop stocks an array of homemade items from rusks and cookies to teas and soaps, sweets for days and preserves such as chutneys and wicked chilies. A big variety of local wines and craft beer from many of the new micro-breweries that opened in the winelands in recent years.

On the R44 – Mooiberge
This is old favorite beloved by locals and travelers alike. Known for the beautiful strawberry fields and friendly scarecrows that surround the Farmstall, visitors always be we welcomed with local charm and fresh produce. One can find a large selection of dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruits, drinks, Ice creams and sweets. They also have a equally impressive range of Estate wines, Liqueurs, Brandy and Whiskey.
While the older vintages have a rest in the cellar below, the vintages of the 1990’s and the New Millennium, will be showing off on the shelves upstairs. Looking for a special gift or memento? Chances are that you will also find something special here too.

On the N2 – Peregrine
After climbing Sir Lowry’s Pass and heading towards the Overberg region you cannot miss this farm stall. The shop showcases a variety of locally farmed and produced goods, from artisanal foods, fynbos honey to fresh cold-pressed juices and champagne style apple cider.
The aroma of Peregrine’s variety of freshly baked goods fills the air and teases the senses. The wine shop stocks all the region’s top wines and ciders, as wellas a growing selection of craft beer.
The café’s seasonal menu draws travelers and locals alike to for their honest homemade fare and warm country hospitality.
