Cape Town Science Centre

In addition to the holiday regulars: Camera Obscura daily @ 11:00 & 15:00 and the Science Show daily @ 13:00, the Science Centre will deliver 7 different activities and workshops every day with the first one at 10:30 and the last at 15:00.

Starting from 6 years old, there is something for all ages and the programme goes all the way till 8 January. Open on all weekends but closed on 25 Dec & 1 Jan.

Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome

A 360 degree journey into space and beyond! Open Tuesdays to Sundays, with special Wednesday night screenings at 7 and 8pm.

 

 

 

Artjamming

Activities for 3 years and older on 3 & 4 Jan. 10:00.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Two Oceans Aquarium

Extended Hours at the Aquarium this festive season: 17 Dec until 6 Jan open 09:00 – 19:00

*25 Dec they will close at 18:00.

You can have your face painted, take an image with the aquarium mascots and the play center will have themed arts and crafts and the ever-popular puppet shows.

Watch for feeding times to have a unique experience and encounters with Penguins, Rays and Turtles.

 

GrandWest Fun Park

Sun Exhibits and Sun Park will be transformed into a vibrant playground with thrilling rides and activities to enjoy till 6 Jan.

Face painters, balloon twisters, jugglers, puppeteers, magicians and live DJs.

Somerset Mall

DinosAlive comes to Somerset Mall till 9 Jan.

See the T-Rex, Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Triceratops and more come to life on your phone or tablet screen for a dinosaur experience like never before!

DinosAlive also a range of seriously fun, engaging activities for youngsters. For the kids, there’s dino-rides (where your child will be able to ride the back of a life-size animatronic dinosaur!), PlayStation games, a dino-drawing table, a jumping castle and also the ‘excavation site’ – a sandpit full of ‘fossils’ where young archaeologists will be able to put their dino-digging skills to the test. Mature visitors can look forward to a dino-fossil exhibition.

  • Price: R40 per child (parents enter free)
  • Dino rides are R10 or R20 respectively (not included in the price of the ticket).
  • No supervision is provided.
