A FIRST HAND TOWNSHIP TOUR

Experience an authentic, in-depth and unforgettable 3-hour, live guided visit of the Cape Town’s oldest townships. Absorb life in Gugulethu and Langa with the LaGuGu Township Tour.
Come see, smell, feel, hear, taste and walk the township complimented by free walking and bicycle tours.
Whilst hopping on and hopping off our lovely township taxi interact, engage and learn about the oldest township in South Africa. Pass the beer hall, Dom pass museum, Sobukwe square and sing a Brenda Fassie song or two. Drink Umqombhothi (traditional beer), have a smiley (sheep’s head) and finally some Shisa Nyama (braai meat/ barbeque).
Guides and chaperones are all local boys and girls so you get a real life experience through the eyes of a local. You are always with either a Guide or Chaperone during your whole tour. During that time you’ll be transformed from a tourist into a traveller.
This tour is unique because it allows you to hop off at various historical and must-see sights along the route.

The tour excludes lunch or snacks and entry fees to attractions.
The tour departs from City Sightseeing Stop 5 on Long Street every 30 minutes from 9:00 onwards. Last taxi departs Langa at 16:30 arriving to Stop 5 at 17:00.

A shorter, 30 minutes tour is available at Imizamo Yethu on the other side of the city.
When taking the Blue Peninsula Tour one can get off at Stop 23, just before entering Hout Bay. You will be guided and accompanied by local residents sharing their life stories.
Buy your tickets at Stop 1, 5 or from your driver. Tours starts from the office on the full hour & half hour.
