Just like their flagship, award winning Pinotage, a stay at Diemersfontein Wine Estate unfolds layers of activities and leisure to indulge in every season.

Nationally known as the estate behind the ‘Pinotage on Tap’ festivals, held annually in Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal, Cape Town and in Clarens too (Free State), we have the chance to share our first-hand impression with you.
Furthermore, with being one of the most successful wine estate in turning farm workers into shareholders in the last decade and a half, one is constantly impressed by the warm hospitality everyone around is sharing. They take share in both the operation and establishing a distinct, now successful wine brands, named Thokozani (a celebration) & Ovation.

Day visitors, popping into the tasting room, will find some pleasant surprises next to the home brand. Originally being an orchards farm, the estate still has its old olive plantation and the cold pressed Olive Oil is available exclusively at the farm. Other unique products include a range of relish and preserves, truffles and hand-made treats produced using various types of distinct grapes, a decadent treat for any foodie. The tasting room also holds the Thokozani & Ovation ranges of wines.

Different accommodation options are laid around the magnificent gardens which is also home to horses, ducks, swans and a big series of large size sculptures of farm and wild animals.

The old homestead, preserved to its’ original glory, houses the first set of rooms. The old farm cottages joins, and is completed with newer buildings that can each house a family or a company of friends and couples, all with en-suite rooms, communal lounges and a kitchen to share. This plays in favour to the fact that the estate is a preferred wedding venue, and also houses a conference facility in the old fruit shed- a charming building with thick walls and original details.

The farms’ restaurant, Seasons, is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday and leisurely breakfast and lunch on Sundays. It is positioned to overlook the estate from every seat, inside or out and oversee selected parts of the large grounds. With traditions in mind, the chef enjoys creating dishes according to the weather, showcasing his flair and originality with local products.

The estate offers Fynbos Horse Trails with full or half day options and Vineyard Beauty, the house spa, has a full treatment menu. The farm is also the exit point of the Wellington Wine Walk: a 4 day, 4 nights trail with professional guides and all included wine tastings and estate meals- a local, pampering take of the classic nature trek.
